Tihocaj Estate is nestled in the Žumberak - Samoborsko Gorje Nature Park, administratively part of the City of Jastrebarsko, in the very heart of Croatia. Despite being only a 40-minute drive from the Zagreb - Split highway, the estate is a true green paradise, resting at 750 meters above sea level.
Surrounded by ancient forests, open fields, natural wells, and mystical peaks, Tihocaj offers a secluded retreat just an hour from Croatia’s capital, Zagreb. Once a thriving village with over 50 inhabitants, the area became uninhabited following the passing of its last resident, Mare Gvozdanović (98), in 2024.
